AS I GAZE OVER THE OCEAN
As I gaze over the ocean
Staring in awe
So much beauty around me
Not a solitary flaw
The lone seagull
Glides ever so free
Flying so gracefully
How I wish that were me
The beauty, the peacefulness
All over the land
The inevitable destruction
It is so hard to understand
All these wondrous gifts
Are so much to cherish
Why am I so frightened?
That all might perish?
The passing seasons
A withering flower
The end is near
The collapse of a tower.
The ignorant people
Without any sorrow
The great mushroom in the sky
Will there be a tomorrow?
